The worst cruise ship ever to set sail would have to be the Ovation of the seas. This cruise liner owned and operated by Royal Caribbean set sail on its maiden voyage from Singapore to Sydney, Australia in December of 2016. The first thing I noticed straight off the bat was that all the outdoor activities were closed almost all of the time due to weather conditions. Sure you cannot change the weather, but why build outdoor activities that are all closed at the drop of a hat due to a little wind or rough swells. The rock climbing wall was closed, the wave rider was closed the North Star arm was closed too. Speaking of the North Star Arm the Royal Caribbean website explains how the arm is meant to stretch out 90 degrees from the cruise ship giving passengers a side view of the cruise ship although this is a complete lie. The arm goes up and down only. 3 rides closed. 3 instant fails. Next, now moving onto the food buffet. The popular buffet called wind jammers served up fake foods like fake scrambled eggs, fake roast beef, fake roast ham, almost like spam in a can. I mean come on, 3 more fails. Royal Caribbean stop serving fake foods on your cruise ships. Next lets move onto Royal Caribbean specialty restaurant called Wonderland. It was anything but a wonderland, it was more like a train wreck in the making. The food service was extremely slow, the wait staff couldn’t understand basic food or drink orders. My friends ordered drinks from other bars around the cruise ship and bought them back into the Wonderland restaurant as the wait staff were so incompetent at taking drink orders. This specialty restaurant was meant to explain the food courses as they were being served and yet the staff couldn’t speak English so how could you understand the food you were being served. Total utter fail, very disappointing A name change of the restaurant from Wonderland to Train wreck land should do the trick.
Royal Caribbean lift your game this cruise ship you sent to Australia was a total utter disaster. I have used Royal Caribbean in the past sailing on the cruise liner Allure of the seas from Florida and the quality on that ship was amazing. I could not fault that cruise ship experience. Royal Caribbean is giving Australian passenger a 2nd rate cruise ship experience with shitty quality food at the buffets, shitty quality of on board activities, shitty quality of staff who cannot speak a word of English. This cruise was just an utter fail.
